Welcome to WPP AUNZ, the largest marketing communications services group in Australia and New Zealand.

Whatever skill or service is required, at whatever point on the customer experience landscape, we can deliver it. We can do this because we combine WPP’s global tools, reach and expertise with agile local management, unique proprietary offerings and deep market knowledge.
 
No other group in the region comes close to our scale and breadth of capability which comprises 5,500 people working across more than 80 companies in over 170 offices.

Our leadership

Mike Connaghan

Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director
 
After graduating from Charles Sturt University in 1987, Mike Connaghan began his career as a copywriter at Clemenger BBDO in Sydney. From there he joined the iconic John Singleton Advertising on the ‘suit’ side, and was part of the team which steered Telecom Australia through the deregulation of the country’s telecommunications industry.
 
Mike joined STW for the first time in 2001, as Managing Director of Diversified Companies, and was responsible for expanding and growing that division.
 
In 2004 he moved back into adland to become Managing Director of JWT Australia and New Zealand. He remained in that role until he was appointed CEO of STW in July 2008.
 
After the successful merger of WPP and STW in Australia and New Zealand in April 2016, Mike is now the CEO of WPP AUNZ. The combined business, listed on the ASX has a market capitalisation of more than $1billion, and employs more than 5000 people.
 
Mike is a Director of the Australian Association of National Advertisers and Chairman of the Board for the charity ‘R U OK? Day’.
